Dedicated to supporting athletes at all levels through coaching excellence, General Motors’ Making Dreams Possible Program has been providing one hundred $2,000 club coaching grants and ten $10,000 high performance coach grants annually to community sport clubs and high performance coaches nationwide.

Hlas 7th in FIS GS
Viktor Hlas of the Winnipeg Alpine Racers who now skis for the University of New Hampshire placed 7th in a Eastern Spring Series FIS GS on Sunday. The placing gave him a 35 FIS point result. "I think it was the Mach III from KUU that made the difference", Hlas stated.
Congratulations, New "Trained" Development Level Coaches
After five days of a Development Level course there are now five coaches who now hold a Trained Development Level status. Kendra Gierys of (WAR), Alexis Stockford (La Riviere), Steven Horbas (Summit), Callum Melvin (Westman) and Tory Ross (Asessippi) all achieved the standard in course setting, coaching and skiing.
"Red Mob" Rule The 2009 Season
The Summit Ski Club held on to win the MASD Club Championship through the MASS Provincial Championships weekend wit the help of Kristen Master and Steven Horbas and their strong results. The Club Championship is awarded to the club accumulating the most points from the NGSL, Rising Stars and MASS.
Horbas Solid Under Pressure
Steven Horbas of the Summit Ski Club steamrolled the competition in the second run of the MASS GS Provincial Championships. Horbas claimed the Provincial Championship in SL & GS on the weekend and also came from behind on the last day to win the Manitoba Cup Overall Trophy, the award for amassing the most series points in a season. “I was either going to win or have an amazing crash, it turned out pretty good.” Winners from the Manitoba Cup Overall Trophy dates back to 1975.
Prairie "Super Team" Prepare for Whistler Cup
The K1's & K2's have been chosen who will represent the Prairies at the Whistler Cup in April. Qualifiers from Manitoba include: Alexandrea Murray, Colin Ross and Bryant Roulston, Tori Hislop, Leah Lagoski, Gage Martinook. These six will be going to Whistler to take on the world in Super G, SL & GS!

Stockford Three-peat!
Alexis Stockford of the La Riviere Ski Club was able to three-peat the Overall Manitoba Cup, the award for the most series points accumulated in 2009. Although leading in the first run of the Provincial Championship SL on Saturday, she was unable to complete the sencond run on the difficult Roller Coaster track. Alexis Stockford now joins other champions dating back to 1975.
